The UK Guardian is running a series on the shale gas boom in the northeast United States:
Suzanne Goldenberg writes an overview story (link below) published April 21: "Sitting atop a vast deposit of natural gas, Pennsylvania knows how lucrative – and dangerous – this rapidly expanding industry is. But how can it prevent large-scale environmental damage?":
The series is being produced in collaboration with ProPublica, which in its project "Buried Secrets" has been reporting in depth on the shale gas boom since 2008:
